The Health & Safety of your
employees, sub-contractors or any visitor to your active worksite is our main
priority, to act as another set of eyes to ensure compliance with your
organisations responsibilities under the Health & Safety at Work Act 2015 with
WorkSafe NZ or WHS Act 2011 with SafeWork Australia and within your companies H
& S policies.
Once your scaffold has been
erected or even partially dismantled, we can conduct regular assessments for
compliance with relation to the Good Practice Guidelines for Scaffolding in New
Zealand or the General Guide for Scaffolds and Scaffolding Work Australia (the
scaffolder’s rules & regulations) when you deem it is required. This is a
useful way to get feedback on your current scaffolding suppliers practices and
plan improvements if necessary.
We will work with you to ensure
any scaffolding issues are discovered prior to WorkSafe NZ or SafeWork
Australia unexpectantly visiting your site for random inspections and can
relieve some of the pressure from your Health & Safety Officers, Site &
Construction Managers through our experience to arrange any remedial action
required with the scaffold company concerned for that compliance whilst leaving
them to what they do best, manage your projects to keep them on time. We can
also train these managers to identify these problems as well so they have more
of an awareness of potential issues that may require action.
On any commercial building site,
there are always going to be scaffolds that have issues with compliance,
whether through inadequately trained or unsupervised staff, management
pressures to get the scaffold completed within a timeframe to get to the next
site, shortage of equipment to complete the scaffold compliantly or alterations
by sub-contractors that leave both you and your scaffold supplier wide open for
an unexpected visit from WorkSafe NZ or SafeWork Australia and the costly
issues and delays that follow.
Propping has become a major issue
on many commercial sites that require particular attention due to recent
failures that have been signed off by engineers. We have the expertise to
visually inspect propping to ensure it is compliant with the relevant countries
regulations and provide another back-up to your engineers.
In this modern age of more
attention to Health & Safety on large construction sites, a project delayed
by an improvement or prohibition notice can only add to your costs, affecting
your profitability with very little chance of recovering that debt but an incident
or accident is an event everyone has to work towards preventing. Doing
nothing is not an option!
Our knowledge of the latest Acts,
guidelines, regulations and rules in both New Zealand and Australia offers more
specific technical information to your managers when they need it.
Scaffcon Ltd can work with you to
relieve some of that stress to make your project timelier, safely and at less
cost.
